Facebook 101

Facebook Has Over 600 Million Users and Counting -
Are You One of Them?

Yes?  Great!  But are you leveraging this amazing free marketing tool to drive eyes to your fan page?

Did I just hear you say “What’s a fan page?”

Or did I just hear you say “Of course I know how to use Facebook.  I’m on it every day talking to my friends and telling them what a good time I had last night partying at my favorite club!”

No?  “Don’t want to, need to, can’t deal with, can’t handle Facebook.  So I don’t.”

Ooops.  All of the above answers, how shall I say this politely…SUCK.

Here’s the problem.

Facebook is THE King of the Social Media hill and you have to be on it, especially if you’re an actor.

Well That’s a Ballsy Statement

Yes it is.  Face it, (get it, FACE it?) you know you need to be on this powerful platform of promotion (I just LOVE alliteration) but you just resist because it’s too hard, or time consuming, or you just haven’t figured out how or why to use it yet.

How To Know for Sure If This Program Is For You

You are a beginning to intermediate computer user and are eager to get on the Information Super Highway (oh wait, that is sooo 1996), ahem, the Internet, and get connected.

You  have a Facebook profile but fed up, confused and pissed that they keep moving all those buttons.

You are determined to crack the code of  this social media thing and ready to take on the challenge of both technology and marketing combined.

A Few of The Cool Things You’re About to Learn

  • How to set up your personal profile main Facebook account and locate/choose privacy settings
  • Find friends and contacts; put them in categories for ease and distribution of your information to those you want to know “certain” things about you (i.e. don’t show those New Years Eve pics to Grandma)
  • How to add your main profile picture, create an album for other pictures and “tag” other people so they are identifiable; also “untag” yourself in unwanted pictures posted to your FB page by others
  • How to “post” in your status update and lead your community to where you want them to go by “commenting” on their posts.
  • What to include (or not) in your profile information to make others interested in who you are

It sounds complicated to most beginners, but once shown step-by-step, hands-on (don’t forget to bring your laptop!), the mystery of this powerful tool will be unlocked forever! We will take you through the site and show you the location of links and buttons (which are ALWAYS changing) so that you can update your social media presence all by yourself. After the course, the full presentation will be emailed to you via a link to Gary’s PowerPoint display for future reference.
